In The Beginning

We would like to thank Second City Cop for the inspiration to create our own little blog. It is said that imitation is the greatest form of flattery. I'm not so sure we will be able to imitate SCC, or that we will need to, but I can say we will give it our best to produce some thought provoking posts. Our post will deal with local, national and international politics. We will address issues that concern policemen and Second City Coppers in particular. We' ll do our best to keep it civil but we'll definitely allow you to blow off steam within reason. Like SCC we reserve the right to monitor all post.

Good Luck SCS. I hope everyone can comment, rant, vent, suggest and yes even praise within the boundries of good taste and class. Show the world that despite our moron mayor, aldermen and exempts, the CPD still is the finest police department in the country.

Glad to see a site for supervisors. Thanks for taking the time to do this, and for moderating posts right from the get go. It will save time not having to troll through the b.s. Good luck. I'll be here often.

How about expanding this site to include Lt's???? It would actually be nice to have a forum for Sgt.'s and Lt.'s to exchange thoughts and ideas.

At last a Sgt. BLOG, one more place for disgruntled PO's to blow off steam with supervisors. maybe we should listen, and learn, and remember from where we came. SERGEANTS RULE # 1, TAKE CARE OF YOUR PEOPLE, ITS OUR #1 JOB.

TK is the bestses sgt ever. we're lucky to have him in the TRU. I love him for supplying the whole unit with animal crackers. they are very addictive. He's got great "joke" material too...

Just wanted to stop by and provide a little support from the civilians out here. Take care and stay safe.

Congrats, SCS. One can only hope you do a better job of isolating the racist/sexist garbage that was allowed to fester for far too long on SCC. Good luck in managing your new blog...I'll be checking in occasionally.

Talk about when and when not to terminate a chase. Some idiot from 015 today is trying to terminate a foot chase on the air. There are some true idiot supervisors out there. If the vehicle pursuit has been terminated and the offenders have bailed it is now a foot pursuit. Scream Terminate all you want but I'm not going to stop running after a fleeing felon because I was told to terminate my foot chase by an extremely over weight sgt. That my friend would be in-attention to duty. Which I know you would love to write me up for. So Be Very Careful and watch yourself because these supervisors are not watching out for you. They are looking to advance and cover their own ass only. I wish more supervisors remembered what 11:03 said.

This site sucks! You can't explain why some sgt's suck. Yeah this site will succeed my ass.

Please keep in mind that this is an open blog
that can and is read by people other than Chicago Police Officers.
