Densey Cole II lay paralyzed almost 1,000 miles from where he works as a Chicago cop and had a visitor -- the police chief of Denver.
"He didn't just visit me, he saluted me," Cole said of Gerald Whitman. "That's the class act he is."
Officers in and around Englewood, Colo., where Cole has been treated since July for a spinal cord injury, think he is the class act and have adopted him and his wife, giving them tickets to concerts and sports contests and lending an old police cruiser. The brotherhood was galvanized after learning Cole was hurt in a line-of-duty car crash. Authorities said he was threatened by a thief who took his police weapon as he was pinned in the wreckage.

Thank you for posting asap!! They are amazing no mention of Denver PD though, who have really gone above and beyond!!
May heaven shower you with blessings now & forever Denz! There still are some decent people left in this world & luckily Denz is getting to finally know them. I heard there are some great pictures of him with his 2 daughters at the benefit. Those girls were all he talked about when we either worked with each other or ran into each other. Keep strong buddy, remember like you said to me one time not very long ago, my girls will always take priority over everything. People come & go in our lives, but our children will always be here 4 us. See you back in Chi-town. Rich
Englewood Colorado has displayed acts of kindness that family & friends sometimes don't even do. From day one it seems they have gone beyond human understanding to do everything they can to make things better & easier for our brother in blue. May God always keep them wrapped in his arms as we continue to send our thanks & blessings to them forever. For the rest of us here, lets be careful & back each other up.
God Bless Officer Cole, his family & all of Colorado. I don't know them well, but the last time I saw him, he was with his two daughters, sister & mom. They came to the resturant I'm a waitress at. All I know is that they all were laughing & being silly & I can't wait for the day to have them like that again. I'll pay the check next time! SCS thanks for having a spot like this for regular citizens to read & even comment on. Keep us informed on Officer Cole please.
Now that's what you call a Chief of Police . I'll bet that his men & women look up to him . I would sure like to shake his hand .
We heard that Densey was having surgery early Fri. to remove the trach once again. Has anyone received any updates on his condition? All of us keep prayin for ya bro. Hey "tank" you are the man!!
Hey SCS, we heard Officer Cole is coming back to Chgo. the first week in October. We are concerned though because there has been no talk of where he will be living. When he was at Christ everybody that was there saw Burke come to the hospital & talked with his mom & sis. It was mentioned that a house was going to be built for him. Your'e the best at getting the info. out. Maybe you could put a new post up about this to see what progress is being made. We certainly don't want the city holding back on anything this guy needs. Never know when we might need it God forbid. From a bunch of us guys that worked with Densey in 001 district. Stay strong bro.
