A couple of comments from readers of the L.A. TIMES concerning the

"I am totally disgusted by Chicago Police and will report them to PETA for their horrible attack on an innocent animal. Do they not know what a tranquilizer gun is????? I cried at the injustice for this poor animal lost in a concrete jungle. I hope those officers can sleep safe in knowing that they were only protecting themselves and their pride while they could have waited for animal services to take the animal back to its natural habitat. Foul and cowardices. And may I say stupidity." -- Animal Rights

On the other hand....

"I'm cracking up reading all the comments about the 'beautiful innocent animal' ...what a bunch of whiney hippies. It's a dangerous predator. It could have killed any of those officers easily, not to mention any children who it might have happened upon. Beautiful innocent children. What is this country coming to when the life of an animal is given higher value that the life of a human??" -- Wyzbok

You're God Damn right they killed that animal to protect themselves! Nothing to do with pride and everything to do with survival and the survival of others. I'd give my life for my child but not a fucking animal. People like "Animal Rights" are fools.

Now you've gone and done it, I'm literally shaking in my boots and shitting my pants, the "concrete jungle" writer is going to report the incident to PETA. Guess I'll just have to go into the basement and try and cry myself to sleep worrying about PETA. Anything, anything but PETA. God I'm so afraid.

32 shot, 2 stabbed during weekend violence,6 Dead.

In an especially violent weekend, no less than 32 people have been shot in Chicago -- six fatally -- and two people have been stabbed since noon Friday. The shooting victims range in age from 12 to 65.

On Friday, 15 people were shot -- four fatally -- between noon Friday and midnight Saturday, police said.

What you going blame this on,warm weather, illegal guns, drugs, gangs???

Those BS rallies and marches are wornout with the citizens, time to face the piper.

In an unprecedented occurrence the new Chicago Police Superintendent Jody Weis held an emergency impromptu press conference to address the incredible surge of weekend violence in Chicago. 32 people have been shot, two critically stabbed and 6 dead since Friday afternoon. Police spokeseperson Monique Bond attributes the upswing in violence to warm Spring weather. This comes at a very bad time for Mayor Richard M. Daley and the City of Chicago, which is a final contender for the 2016 Olympics. The national media has been keenly focused on the deaths of 22 Chicago Public School students this year and a record 34 Chicago Public School students were killed during the 2006-07 school year.

Mayor Daley want parents to help stop the violance.

Ask him when the last time he called the govennor who then called the president to stop the narcotics trade here.

One carrier off the coast of Columbia, with a call from Bush telling them they have one week to burn all the cocain there or a low level atom bomb goes off. The fields are then toast for 1000 years I bet they burn the fields.

After 911 the Mayor of New York "Rudy " stated that where all out Herion comes from, (Afcanistan), If he knew this before hand where was his call to the Govennor of New York and his cal to the President. (and this Nit-wit) wanted to be President.

Please keep in mind that this is an open blog
that can and is read by people other than Chicago Police Officers.
