VEBA UPDATE

Via the CPSA website:
As of Tuesday 28 April 09 we have received 751 ballots. This is about 60% of those eligible to vote.

Ballots must be returned to the C.P.S.A. Office by Tuesday, 05 May 09.

Any active member who has not received their ballot or needs a replacement, please contact the CPSA Office to have a ballot sent out to you. You can also come to the C.P.S.A. Office during regular business hours (M-F) to cast your vote in person.

The C.P.S.A. Board voted 12 to 2, with one member not present to reject this Plan as presented by the City. We urged you to vote NO!

I did not vote because the union rigged the outcome, but thanks for the stamp and envelope. Oh, and thanks for wasting our union dues!

"I did not vote because the union rigged the outcome"

The board expressed an opinion via a board vote-they didn't rig it- you're paranoid!

Chicago City Hall, Mayor Richard Daley's administration routinely deny requests for public documents

Daley has also refused to release records detailing his official travel expenses, in some cases saying private groups paid for his trips and in others claiming under records law that it would be too hard to itemize the expenses. Asked for copies of his official appointment calendar -- released by many other public officials -- Daley press secretary Jacquelyn Heard said the chances "are very slim."

"Some of the people who he meets with don't want it known that he has met with them," Heard said.

St Jude March Update,

Has anyone noticed that since they moved the St Jude's March to the middle of nowhere, I mean the lakefront, that there is no media coverage any longer?

The Mayor did not want thousands of rogue coppers marching on the Magnificent Mile and had it moved to obscurity. St Judes belongs on Michigan Avenue!

I did not attend St Judes this year but I did attend Church and I did memorialize our dead. I refuse to take part in a fraud anymore. Please stop spewing your lies of indignation from 3510 about how we do it for our dead.

St Jude has turned into a political popularity contest for the bosses and a get out of spring inspection for the troops. The citizens no longer see us marching and they no longer even hear or see it on television. Our Commander-in-Chief will not even attend and pay his respects for one hour a year.

The St Jude March is no longer for me either. I am even writing a paragraph in my will about this BS if I am killed in the line of duty.

To any Gold Star families that are offended by my boycott, please turn your angst against the Mayor. You should be IRATE that he can NOT and will NOT attend a memorial for one hour a year and has done everything he can to kill the event.

"I did not vote"

So you admit to giving away you voice on the subject? Giving away your chance to have an impact? Just because the Union board let is be known what their collective opinion is, does not mean it's a thrown election.

If you don't participate- don't bitch about it.

"I did not vote because the union rigged the outcome, but thanks for the stamp and envelope. Oh, and thanks for wasting our union dues!'

-------

YOU are a FUCKING MORON.

If you don't like the way the Union is run then go to at least half the meetings and run for a position instead of hiding behind a keyboard you COWARD PUKE.

Now don't be a typical cheap-ass copper and lay out $10.00 for a raffle book for the Sergeant's Death Benefit Fund.

People like you are the reason things "just happen". Obama's election "just happened" because people didn't vote against him. If Hillary's people didn't like him, vote for McCain. Oh yeah, that vote was rigged too.

Stand up and be counted (even if you lose.) Or shut up and let somebody else tell you what to do.

Sad actually.....

I did not vote because the union rigged the outcome . . .
------

The union board suggested we vote AGAINST this VEBA shit which has been corrupted by the city.

Would you rather the Sergeant's Association suggest we vote for it?

You are obviously a stupid meritorious sergeant.

Where are the results of the VEBA vote?

I must say, I'm glad you didn't vote. We prefer that the voters be informed Sergeants with working brains.
