BARAK

In today's Tribune Barak has a problem with those who question his patriotism.
Reading a speech to several thousand people at the Charleston Civic Center, the Illinois senator said patriotism means more than saluting flags and holding parades.

Just because someone salutes a flag doesn't automatically make them a patriot but your actions certainly show your true colors.

Barack Obama Bin-Laden says---

It was physically upsetting to me to have to stand in front of that huge flag of my sworn enemy. Just look at my face. I honor only the crescent moon.

I was praying for Allah to give me strength to stand there and not bolt from that stage during that disgusting song. When I am elected Califate of the Islamic States of America, the Infidels will pay for that insult.

I'm voting for him, and primarily for one reason.

Nobody, and I mean nobody, can give a good explanation what the hell we are doing in Iraq to me anymore. We are still losing our kids there, and I can't understand why.

Let the Shiites and Iran fight the Sunnis and Saudi Arabia/Al Queda from now to the end of days for all I care. Its not worth another one of our kids, and it hasn't been for several years.

I'm a Republican, and I supported and still support the original invasion. But none of you here could talk me into sending you, your children, or anyone you love, to Iraq.

The taxes will hit me more than it hits any of you (I'm in the top bracket the last 2 years). I'll eat it. My money burned in taxes for 4 years is well worth you, your children, anyone you love, and anyone I love, or any American strangers for that matter.

The father in law is buried at Arlington, and I visit section 69 when we visit his graves. There is nothing sadder than seeing the graves of these kids by the dozens, and not being able to rationalize what any of them died for in the last few years.

And, for the record, Obama would get eaten alive in any country in the middle east. The accusations of him as a muslim are, among other things, silly.

To the Virginian---

Your views are well-spoken but somewhat simplistic. I would agree with you about them fighting over there and leaving us alone. Sept. 11, 2001 proves that they want the fight to be brought to us. I would rather have the battle over there than over here.
Yes, taxes do suck. If you examine Obama's voting records both in the US and Illinois Senate, he voted for tax increases and for policies that would have to lead to tax increases.

My father also is in a military grave. The sacrifices his generation made cannot be matched. But I know that he agreed that our enemies should be dealt with sooner than later.

If Obama would get eaten alive by any country in the middle east, we don't need him as our chief executive. These middle east countries do not have our best interests at heart and we need someone strong to deal with them.

Obama may not be a Muslim, but he spent ages 4-10 in the world's most populous Muslim country with a Muslim stepfather. Those years are formative and lessons learned then are learned for life.

You poor baby! Just where did your hero Obama serve!? Take your bleeding heart and your crying towel somewhere else!

I have two sons in the Army. One's currently a 2LT, the other is a 1LT in Iraq. If you talked to them they could tell you in no uncertain terms why they're in Iraq and why they're making the sacrifice for our nation. What are YOUR kids doing? Getting rich here in the States? Getting drunk and puffing weed at college? Having trouble sleeping because you can't "rationalize" your way into a "good" war? There's no such thing, crybaby.

The freedoms you enjoy today come courtesy of the sacrifices made by everyday heros in uniform - "ALL GAVE SOME AND SOME GAVE ALL" - a phrase you'll never understand because you can't get a "good explanantion" of the dangers posed by Islamic extremists.

"It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived."
Those soldiers at Arlington died

My great-great grandfather fought in the Civil War. My grandfather fought in World War I. My father fought in World War II. Were those "good wars?" It's sad to think that we all fought so clowns like you could one day fall victim to the America-hating propaganda on U.S. TV news and in rags like the Sun-Times.

You think if we'd had Wolf Blitzer broadcasting 24/7 from the beaches of Normandy in 1944 that we would have won that war? Would Roosevelt had been re-elected if the media had shown clip after clip of the maimed GI's being piled up on the beaches?

The new graves at Arlington are there because liberals in government lulled people like you to sleep.

Get your head straight about one thing, whiner: Obama will bring more attacks on the United States - the 9-11 attacks came as a result of having that pussy DemoRat Clinton in the White House during the 90's, and when dopes like you elect Obama, the door will open for more severe attacks - expect them to be of the nuclear variety.
for YOU. YOU dishonor them by voting for Obama - instead, why don't you just go piss on their graves?

Wipe your tears and grow a backbone! Then, go out and vote for a man who has honorably served his country and who understands what the words "sacrifice" and "military service" stand for!

1st, what makes you think this same battle would not be occurring over there without us? Right now, what exactly are we doing besides standing between Sunnis and Shiites, Saudia Arabia and Iran? Let them fight it out.

2nd, what exactly does anything in Iraq have to do with 9/11? Seriously, who of the people who attacked the U.S. on 9/11 has ever even stepped foot in Iraq, let alone fought the U.S. there?

Sick of Liberals:
--If you talked to them they could tell you in no uncertain terms why they're in Iraq and why they're making the sacrifice for our nation. --

If you talk to them, could you maybe get the short version? You might want to ask them who they are voting for too. Virginia is about 1/2 current or former military, and you'd likely be shocked to see how few are waving your particular flag.

I'm keeping the best interests of your boys at heart when I pull the lever for Obama.

"The new graves at Arlington are there because liberals in government lulled people like you to sleep."

Or the military industrial/petroleum complex needed a new war to justify their existance and increase their profits. Cheney was part of a think tank that published a position paper that stated - and I'm papaphrasing here-that a new Pearl Harbor needed to happen before the American people would accept going to war with Iraq.

It was published six months before 9-11.

The bombers were from Saudi Arabia, Bin Laden is a Saudi and orchestrated this from Afghanistan. The Bush administration let over one hundred relatives of Bin Laden leave the US after air traffic was grounded-without being interviewed by the FBI or CIA. Bin Ladan's Daddy and Bush's Daddy have served on the boards of major oil companies for years together.

But we started a war with iraq instead of going after Bin Laden- who is still out there.

Liberals didn't have a hand in any of that.

I don't think it's a question of "liberal" lulling anyone to sleep. It's good old fashioned slight of hand-it's called greed. Check out the growth in Cheney's personal wealth since he was elected vice-president-all oil-all Halliburton.

Check out other sources of news than FOX.... your future and your children's future depends on not accepting what is fed you from 'traditional' media sources.

I think you should put the blame for those graves somewhere other than on 'liberals'.

The Project for a New American Century is a conservative think tank: the "pearl harbor" paper I referenced in my last post can be found on their website:

I was off on the six months comment- it was published in 2000.

Okay, you're telling us how rich and arrogant you are. But in this country you don't have to be smart to be rich. In fact, you can be downright stupid, hence your arrogant supposition that none of us could possibly be as wealthy as you.

My flag flies proudly. The Virginia Democratic electorate is 30 percent blacks. The majority of the rest are women and Latinos (and a few guilty white men whose ancestors owned slaves.) In Virginia, your hero Obama got 90 percent of the black vote and most of the women and Latinos. These people are definitely NOT waving my flag. They live in a fantasy world of free health care, more welfare, free tuition, reverse discrimination, uncontrolled taxation and unrestrained illegal immigration. (Heck, I bet you got a few of these voters cutting the lawns on your magnificent estate!)So, I ain't shocked!

As for getting the short version from my sons - that is the problem with mopes like you! You grew up on TV and all you want are sound bites! "Gimme the quick version so I can go out and make more money!" There is no short version, dummy!

But here's something they would tell you:
War is an ugly thing but not the ugliest of things. The people in this country who are willing to fight for nothing other than their own personal safety are much worse. People like you are miserable creatures whose freedoms are created and protected by the exertions of better men and women than yourself.

The Saudi and Kuwaiti Royal families thank you for your protection. You might mouth the party line son, but you ain't a conservative. I am the NRA, the anti-illegal-anything, the America-first wing of the party.

Ahhh, I give up. Do you have any idea what are Saudi friends teach their children? The Saudi interests is who your kids are protecting from Iranian-backed militias. It is not worth ONE of your kids, and I'm ashamed any parent would be so deluded as to think it is.

Sick of Liberals:

You have now written something like 1000 words, and not one that explains what your supposed "sons" have told you about why they are there. I'm doing my best not to sink to your level here, but can you please just take a second to lay it out? Who is your son protecting us from? Iraqi nationalists?

Nice try on your Virginia statistics. Look at the red/blue maps for Virginia and you might note that Richmond, the tidewater area and NoVA are the democrat parts of the state. They are also where the military and intelligence concentrations exist.

Don't get me wrong. Like I said, I'm a Republican, and apparently the only actual conservative taking part in this thread. But I digress.

Could you please just entertain us all with a short justification of why your son is risking his life and limbs in an Iraqi civil war?

Why are rich dorks from virginia coming to a copper blog in Chicago to praise allah and obama? they must really be feeling guilty about owning all those slaves. after all, it was virginians that fought to keep slavery!
and give us a break from the old liberal song that always starts with the military industrial oil complex blah blah blah they didn't need a war dipshit. profits were running just fine due to a worldwide boom.
oh yeah, cheney started the war to get rich but every democrat voted yes on that but I guess you forgot. Cheney's rich? What, he's up there in the same tax bracket as you? you jealous? I got news for you - your reverend jerry wright is just as rich as you and cheney.
and you mentioned the flag. come to chicago and stand at the church where obama has been worshiping for the last 20 years. the flag at the altar is a flag of africa. that's the only flag he has allegiance to. rich liberal nerds...walk east and drown yourselves...

Thats scary. Ask around and see where people go when they leave the CPD. I guess you might be the only one surprised to find out that many or most don't actually stay and continue paying tax homage to the Daleys, Strogers and Blagoyevichs.

--it was virginians that fought to keep slavery!--

Nice. It was Virginians who led the revolution and pushed for the Constitution. The first wave on Omaha beach was the Virginia national guard, and I guarantee you this state has given more of its sons than Illinois for this war.

That wasn't me talking about oil and Cheney or flags, so I'll let whoever wrote that respond.

You are obviously confused, so I guess there's not much use asking you why you think Sick of Liberals boy is in Iraq. You want to know why you guys are having such trouble coming up with that answer?

Nobody has given one for years. Not since the U.S. realized that the WMDs weren't in Iraq. Its sad that some in Chicago are at the point where they don't even ask for answers from government any more. But with decades of the Chicago machine, it actually makes sense and sort of explains they apathy.

Okay, virginian. We saw your post on SCC singing Cuello's praises. Let's see - in Virginia - so you work for the feds. Supporting J-Fraud - fed. Arrogant - feds again. Counts the words people write - fed with NO life! Obama supporter - which is it - forced out under Bush or didn't get that promotion you were hoping for? Say you're a conservative Republican but voting for Obama - HAHAHAHAHAHA! - this really tells us all about you - typical fed playing make-believe games.

But what really gave you away was the last line. You're not the police and you never were. No PO has to ask for an explanation of why someone risks their life to protect another human being. Feds just can't get their empty little heads around the concept. You are one of J-Fed's pals scouring this blog and trying to plant misinformation. Now wipe your chin and get back under his desk! (and I won't be replying to any more of your posts you gutless fed dirtbag!)

No explanation. Just absolute mindless drive without once answering a simple question.

I will be visiting section 69 at Arlington this weekend, and praying to God and the souls of our lost to forgive people like you for the sacrifices you call only on others to make. Classic Chicago Democrat.

Does the Virginian really think that a vote for Obama will help things?

Obama gets elected.
He pulls the troops out.
Arab extremists look upon that as weakness, as they did with Clinton in Somalia.
They become emboldened an attempt another 9/11 style attack.

Obama has shown he is weak with Iran. Why negotiate with a terrorist country like that? You use your strength to dictate to them how you want things done. If they resist, you stomp them.

That's the only thing they will understand.

4:32, thank you for trying

Mogadishu was in 1996. The first WTC attack was in 1993. And there were dozens of attacks before even 1993, including Khobar Towers, airplane hijackings in the '80s, and the marine barracks and embassy bombings under Reagan.

And damn if Iraq isn't the only country in the middle east that was NOT somehow involved in any of it!

Have you ever seen the immediate familiar relationships between the people who planned the first WTC attack and the people who planned 9/11? The blind sheikh and his kids, and Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, and the guy who tried the Phillipine airline plot? Khobar Towers? You've got Saudis, Kuwaitis and Egyptions running around in Pakistan and Afghanistan. You've got Iranians and Syrians running around in Lebanon.

And who are our kids fighting in Iraq? Damn if its not everybody but the people who attacked us.

Have anybody involved in the WTC attack or 9/11 ever been caught or killed within even 500 miles of Iraq?

At some point, a real conservative would start asking questions about government.

When I did, I realized that we've been lied to. So if the next election is a vote whether to send your kids, or your neighbor's kids to their death in Iraq, I'm voting no. What else on the agenda could even compare to that?

Like I said, I'll eat the taxes. I'll plug my nose for 4 years with a President Obama. But no way am I voting to send any more kids to Iraq to die under McCain or Clinton.

It really is that simple. Nobody has justified our continued presence over there for years, and its like some people just forgot about it. Forgot about our kids, sent in our names, who are getting killed over there for nothing anymore.

By the way, do you realize that in the muslim world that there are 57 nations--so it wasn't just coincidence that Obama said that we have 57 states in the US---Obama and his wife hate the USA and it is a disgrace that Obama is even running for President. If any of you (if there really is more than 1 of you) are representative of the Republican party in Illinois, the Republicans would be lucky to win a kindergarden school council election. Sheesh, you just lost Hastert's old seat.

Why? Because the real conservatives have abandoned dying Illinois. Obama is your fate.

Wright's got nothing on the twisted Revs who are fueling up on McCain, and if he doesn't do a better job of distancing himself from the lunatic right wing fringe, he'll be nothing but a big fat zero in November, and the Republican Party has no one to throw out there who will be able to bring back all of those that McCain will chase away.

WRONG--

Most of us are not voting for Obama because:

1. Extreme liberalism, close to Marxism.
2. Inexperience.
3. Says one thing and does another. Most politicians do this, but the press gives him a pass on his lies. For example:

a. Vowing that he would fulfill his full term when running for senator.
b. Saying that the Selma march in 1965 was the reason his parents got together. He was born in 1962.
c. Calling his grandmother "a typical white woman". If McCain or Clinton had called someone a "typical black woman", there would have been a shitstorm.

Agreed--minor things, but part of a pattern.

Tired of typing. Need I go on?

Signed---A white man with black neighbors who sends him grandchildren to a racially mixed school.

9:49, and that is the conundrum that we face. In a primary, the democratic candidates race left and the republican candidates race right. In the general election, they both will race towards the middle.

The Republican party is in trouble for one reason, literally, one reason.

Aside from Iraq, does anyone have any concerns about how deep this debt-ridden country is in the hole? We have commies and Arabs bailing out our banks because we are bankrupt. England, Ireland and Spain are not far behind in the housing arean. Nor Canada.

The next president is going to face the hardest first term since Ronald Reagan's first term.

Which is yet another reason that it might not be so bad to have Obama in office with a Democratic congress while the Republican party reorganizes.

Please keep in mind that this is an open blog
that can and is read by people other than Chicago Police Officers.
