Heard they want a class out by July. Not sure how many. Any news on a Lt's class?
SCS, what makes you think that those six "northsiders" won't be assigned AS SGTS. to southside districts if they are in the next class? That's where the shortage is greatest. so if I were them, I wouldn't get my hopes raised in the belief that they will be much closer to home in the new rank.
No Lts. until after summer ends.
no real need, no money in the budget for any excess.
If it starts monday it will be out by June. The six northsiders from TRU will be happy to hear it, man did they get F****! 97 p.o.s from TRU will be back in districts next period as well. The dismantling has begun.

If you heard about a SGT's class and are "reporting" on it here, why didn't you ask whomever told you about the SGT's class, about any news for the LT's class??
What is the purpose for your original post? To spread rumor/gossip or to tell us some factual information??
I just do not like the spreading of information that is not ture, not verified, and unsubstantiated and then placing a question on the end of the post?
Go ask the people who told you about the SGT's, and if you just heard about it, then you proved my point. You spread gossip - not good Sarge.

To above: I was in no position to inquiry about the Lts class since this was a conversation I overheard between two officers of much higher rank than myself.
This "rumour" as I called it has been out there for sometime now.
I only thought it newsworthy now because it was being discussed by the people I had mentioned above.
However, I concede that they too may be a part of the rumour mill.
Rumors its all rumors....the lastest is that there will be a class of 150 that will start on 02 June.................its all rumors

Funny as sh*t with those "poor" sergeants wayyyyyyyyyy on the southside......guess you shoulda stayed where you had a good thing instead of TRU, huh?
As usual this blog and SCC are full of bullshit rumors. No sgt class annouced today. Jody Weis and his new administration are so ass backwards they don't know who or where to promote.

Does anybody remember the 1994 sergeants test that was when merit promotions started because too many top scores many were not the right skin color/gender?
There will be no sergeants class this Monday, as the merit selection process has not been worked out.
Apparently there is a dispute as to whether or not the merit process should be anonymous. The top Deputy Superintendents are split on the matter and JFed will not make a decision. Thus, until they come to an agreement, there will be no class.

The boss says all will pass power tests to get promoted. If you want to go to tact, power test. To Lt. power test. We will get this dept. back into shape.

INCORRECT stupid, the 94, 96 and 97 had NO MERIT in them. The 96 class sat in the gym at the academy for an extra couple of weeks waiting for the court ruling on that! A shirt was even made that was half white and half blue...........

it wasn't only TRU Sgts that got sent south, there were some from northside districts sent south as well as others from 022 and narcs.
The TRU Sgts. got 2 days notice and all of them put on mids in area2, all of them far northwest siders, it's bullshit no matter how you look at it. I hope it never happens to a south sider getting sent to 024 or 016 from say 022, 2 days to try and make accommodations for your family etc. this department and city blow hard.
Meritorous should be simple. If your named has appeared in the newspaper doing some serious police work and/or shot or shot someone in the commission of a crime you have my vote!Rewriting a GO or being the mayors bodyguard DNA!. That is what this was created for, I thought! How is it that everyone seems to "know" who is meritorous? Your thoughts?

MR WEISS, STATED ON WLS RADIO, THAT HE HAS HIS TEAM WORKING ON HOW TO MAKE THE APPOINTED ONES (AKA MERIT) MORE OF A TRANSPARENT PROCESS. So until this is completed I do not see a class in the works.
He did not say he wanted it totally transparent. He did say its only 30% of each class , so what is the problem. I want to thank Jody for doing the math "30% of 100 equals only 30".
Every captain and every gold star was "made". i do not care who that person is, you listen to them because of their rank. So why do they think they must keep it a secret who is appointed to Detective, Sgt or lt
New sgts in the summer, exact date unknown. As for the sgts dumped to sourthside ,too bad, you knew it could happen when you filled out the PAR, especially the way things are going. Power test to get promoted? Not a chance.
When you are put in a specialized unit like TRU you know that all good things will eventually come to an end. You simply have to deal with it.
All BS aside, a Sgt's class is going to start the end of May begining of June in order to have them on the street by July. Any good info on a Lt's class?

Hey dickhead, how about the motherfuckers that have the answers to the test! Oh, by the way, there has ALWAYS been a merit selection, the cover was pullled off of it in 94. Also, lets look at who (be it race or gender), that has benefited more from the merit process.
Please forgive my misspellings, you get my drift.
The merit selection process is underway. Names have already been submitted and are being checked. Figure a month at least, two months tops.
Off topic: Can anyone tell me how a photo line up is done?
several photos of a person same sex, size color of hair etc. The suspects may or may not be in the line up. (no one knows but you if the suspect is even in the line up and then it is shown)

There is a detective division special order on this topic. Look on line under Bureau of Investigative SErvices, Detective Division. Keep clicking and search for their orders and you'll find it.

Don't be so sure those Northside resident Sgts. will return north of Madison St. Some of the new Sgts. will have to go somewhere, and some of them will definitely go north. I wouldn't go trading in that Hybrid car for an SUV just yet, Francis!
