DEPARTMENT GOES TO GLOCK

The current class of recruits is now required to purchase and train with either the Glock 17 or 19, according to the Sun-Times.

Supt. Jody Weis made an argument for a uniform weapon in March, speaking at the Union League club.

Current sworn members will not be affected by any of the changes, and they will still be allowed to choose any gun they want from the approved manufacturers.

According to the article the officers primary weapon will be the Glock during their 18 month probation but it is unknown what their options will be after probation.

Good, Shore's ripps everybody off and they know it. Remember when they were charging P.O.'s for the 3rd magazine, even though it came with three? Jagoffs. But cose for the northsiders...

The manufacturer sets the pace whether the gun comes with one, two or three magazines. Not shore.

Going to one gun is stupid in every sense. Suppose we made all recruits wear a size 10 1/2 shoe, wear size 36 pants or carry their pistol on the right side whether they were left handed or not?

Basically, J-fed is telling the world that he can only train to the lowest common denominator. His range staff can't teach multiple weapons..... Evangelista would be pissed if he was still on the job.

What will happen when Glock loses some jackpot lawsuit (initiated by some large city with a crackpot for a mayor; as they can not control their animal)and they are put out of business? Then the city is stuck with a gun that the PPO's can't buy at any price!

You don't know what your talking about. When you know more about the gun business than the cop business, you can come work for them. Shore is a decent operation with good people at the helm. Been selling guns for decades. If they close, I guess you'll have to drive out to DuPage at $4.50/gallon to buy your stuff.
