BLOGO LIKE RYAN

This entry in Wikipedia on, former Illinois Governor, George Ryan regarding his commuting of all death row inmates;
Ryan won praise from death penalty opponents, and was nominated for the 2005 Nobel Peace Prize. Many conservatives, though, were opposed to the decision, and some questioned the motives behind the commutations, which came as a federal corruption investigation closed in on the governor and his closest political allies. Conservative columnist Pat Buchanan called Ryan "pathetic", and suggested that the governor was attempting to save his public image in hopes of avoiding prison himself.

Call me a cynic but now Rod Blagojevich has to tweak his image after a Federal Judge identified him as "public offical A".
In today's Tribune;
After meeting with Northern Illinois University leaders, Gov. Rod Blagojevich asked state lawmakers Wednesday to spend $40 million to raze the lecture hall where five students were fatally shot on Valentine's Day and replace it with a new classroom and memorial building.

The governor's request immediately brought a mixture of kudos and skepticism from lawmakers, some of whom questioned whether taxpayers should bear the financial burden of physically erasing the scene of the tragedy
.

This is something that should be left to the alumni of NIU to build an appropriate memorial. I feel for the families of the dead and injured, I feel for those who had to witness the cowardly act that was perpetrated that day. At the risk of sounding callous I don't feel this is an appropriate use of state funds and I believe this is just a political stunt by a shameless politician to improve his public image.

I agree. A judge and a lawyer were murdered in the Daley center, but never was there talk about tearing it down!

Sorry about what happened at Cole Hall...I attended NIU many years ago, and took a few classes in that bldg. But $40 mil to replace it? Get over it, kids. The bldg. didn't hurt anyone, it was the nutcase! We can't go around changing the landscape in the cash strapped state over every tragedy that occurs.

Great waste of my money. They are going to demolish a 30 million dollar building that was the scene of a terible series of events...Why? Oh that's right, to erase the memory of those horrible events...But lets not forget, they are making the building a "memorial" building that will have its own memorial to the dead students in it. How is that erasing the memory? And what about the person/family who donated the money for th original building. It is called "Khol (sp) Hall." I'm guessing that the money to build it was given from an alumni or a trust for one.

This is outrageous and this fuck wants to raise our taxes again.

Who is this Gene Mullins guy?

Sources say Stroger is waiting to officially announce Mullins' hiring until after the county budget is passed. It's not clear what Mullins would be paid, but the budget calls for the job to pay $105,059.

Stroger's not dumping his old $100,000 PR director -- Andre Garner. He's shuffling Garner into a vacant job in the county planning department and cutting his pay 10 percent.

Mullins would supervise another former Stroger PR chief, Chinta Strausberg -- who is now paid $99,807 a year as Stroger's liaison to churches -- as well as $85,000-a-year hospital spokesman Sean Howard, who was fired from Stroger's political campaign after he was arrested on charges of stalking a woman.

Mullins has a solid reputation at the police department, but his hiring comes on the heels of Stroger hiring another childhood friend, his cousin, his best friend's wife and even his floor leader's girlfriend for high-level county jobs.

The new spokesman, who is taking a one-year leave of absence from the city, had little to say.

"Not just yet," Mullins said, "But I'll be in touch with you."

Our society has fallen apart because everyone thinks they are a victim. NIU's president said, "The building should be torn down because it is a big distraction for the students." Blago quickly jumped on it. Get over it, kids. Unlike the unlucky ones who were killed, you are still alive! Wipe your runny noses, say a prayer, thank God for your life, and do this for the victims: Go out and make something of your lives!

Read Pat Buchanan's latest book: "Day of Reckoning." The preposterous has now become normal.

The Truth About NAFTA:

Mexico has gained because of NAFTA, according to Mexican Economy Secretary Eduardo Soto . He told a gathering last week of U.S., Canadian, and Mexican representatives that the Mexican economy has grown 51 percent because of NAFTA, that nearly 5 million jobs have been generated and that exports to the U.S. and Canada have multiplied five times.

While the US has lost tens of thousands of jobs annually.

Fuck NAFTA,GATT and the Amero and the coming global order.

The Gov loves spending our money. One million to the daycare center on the southside by mistake. So, let correct that by giving the church another million. Hey, by the way let's give seniors a free ride on the cta.

Maybe we should tear down Europe...all those bad memories of WWII, and maybe tear down Richmond...I still tear up everytime I think about Grant's taking of it in the Civil War. I guess we should tear down Chicago as well...over 600 murders a year here. Shit, I don't think there will be anywhere left to live.

Good God, these liberals have got to be the absolute stupidest F*%&#s ever imagined.

Well Blagojethief is at it, why not tear down the city of Springfield and the Senate chambers in DC. He and his corrupt pal Ba-rock smoker have surely murdered any lest vestige of honesty and integrity that were left in those locations.

Please keep in mind that this is an open blog
that can and is read by people other than Chicago Police Officers.
