DePolicing!!!

Here is a comment from one of our readers who deserves his/her own post.

Cumulative Career Trauma Stress, or CCTS," This is what many Chicago Police Officers are suffering from. After years of being battered by the media, politicians, the majority of citizens, and the Bosses. In addition to an unfair disciplinary process that is often influenced by public opinion to the detriment of the average P.O.
All things combined, the only true supporters of men and women doing this job are their families. And sometimes that support is not there. And they ask why are the Police Officers not aggressive any more? The answer is simple, why should they be?
They look for a quick fix, and say we will be supported, but years of abuse are not going to be forgiven overnight. The damage is done and may not be reversible.

Knowing lots of good working coppers that were thrown under the bus I feel like it would take an Act of God to restore my morale.

Keep stripping, suspending, indicting, firing, denigrating in the media, placing on P/C,B/A,psyching and you will literally have no police,no caring police.

Wow,
Ernie Brown has taken a pretty big hit publicly after applying for a Arizona Police Chief job. He also lost his house to a foreclosure after being demoted to lieutenant.

Milstead's climb to top candidate comes after the town eliminated Ernest Brown from the running because of inconsistencies in his Chicago police background.

Previously, Brown was the southwest Valley town's leading choice.

"I don't see this as a hiccup in the process," Hughes said. (Brown) went through the interviews . . . and they had to see if the walk matched the talk."

Top staff and interview panelists remained silent about what kind of irregularities they found in Brown's record that threw him out of the race.

"What we were told (by Brown) and what we were seeing were two different things," said Scott Rounds, Buckeye's assistant town manager, who traveled to Chicago to visit Brown and tour his department in mid-July. "Through the process we found Mr. Brown doesn't fit the team."

Brown's résumé, submitted on April 5, lists his position as assistant deputy superintendent, one of the department's highest ranks. However, he was demoted in March to lieutenant over the detective divisions for five districts, Brown told The Republic. The move followed the appointment of a new superintendent who reorganized the department, he said.

"It did not come as a result of poor performance or discipline," Brown said. "Most of the people who were long-in-the-tooth were removed from their positions."

Brown said he began applying for jobs before his reassignment and must have accidentally sent an old version of his résumé to Buckeye in April. "I certainly had no intention on my part of deceiving anybody," he said.

During June interviews in Buckeye, Brown described overseeing about 100 detectives when asked about his duties, but was never questioned directly about being assistant deputy superintendent.

He said it was clear when Buckeye officials visited what his rank and division were.

"If it was an integrity issue, I would not have invited them into my workplace," Brown said.

An unsigned letter faxed last week to Buckeye's mayor, the Police Department and The Republic noted the demotion and made allegations concerning personal, professional and financial issues.

Asked to respond, Brown said Chicago's internal investigations unit had never found him guilty of excessive force or police brutality, though he acknowledged there had been complaints against him.

Brown also said a $50,000 pay cut after he was moved to lieutenant caused him to lose his home to foreclosure recently.

Monique Bond, director of Chicago police news affairs, declined to provide Brown's employment history records, but wrote that he has had "an exemplary career" and "is highly regarded in the communities he has served."

Buckeye's former police chief, Dan Saban, retired in May to run for Maricopa County sheriff.

I now suffer from depression thanks to this city. Being a Chicago Poice Officer gives you nothing but stress elated illnesses. Get help and dont give in.

Answer your jobs and nothing else. And for Gods sake if you need some help get it.

The people of Buckeye, Arizona got lucky. Thank God they had the presence of mind to check into what "Downtown" was really about.

Whoever sent that unsigned faxed letter should be given the key to the city by Buckeye.

All those officers and Sergeants involved in that shooting is 6 should say they have CCTS---Lets see how quick they will sign a contract if we all come down with CCTS--stay safe

Downtown Ernie Brown.

The chickens have come home to roost.

It is highly suspected that the "anonymous female" fax sender is none other than Brown's estranged wife Alicia (a.k.a. DUMBER THAN A BOXAROX), who has now resigned from the CPD and fled to California (hopefully, for good!). Word is she tried to get hired by LAPD, but couldn't find a decent reference here to vouch for her abilities. Kind of the same boat EB seems to be paddling about in now.

The one thing i can say about Mr Brown is this, out of all the cops i ran across in the streets in my day from the wild 100's to downtown from the westside to the rainbowe beach he is respected by all. If ever they look into his file them dumb asses would see everyplace he worked crime rate declined. know you cant fault a man who look's for improvment shit he takes the shit the department hands him and makes it work. Hell everyone has bones in the closet they just ant going to tell you about them. How many of the cop's on the force felt elated when the shit hit the fan on the streets or a door had to be kicked in on a suspect and you officer's was scared shitless out of your pants and dont comment back crazy because i said so hell i will start putting out names on this here dont do yourself example project building. ok then how many was glad to see Mr Brown show up on the seen and take the charg the first to go therough any door and all you cops no it to be true. ant no man perfect in this world but you want to point the finger because you ant got it and arround fakeing as if you have no bones in your closet. real talk get a life cause if you got time to sit and read all the B.S on this page about Mr Brown and add to the B.S then you exposed yourself as one of the cowerds i was talking about and thats whats real.

I really hope you are not a Sgt. and if you are then you are what is wrong with the merit promotions. You are the reason my job is harder as a Detective. Do yourself a favor borrow your kids spelling bee lessons. first of it is a crime scene not seen, second you know what forget it you must have had too many 40 ounces or something. Have your kid read before you post. I bet you will respond that you have college and that you write how you speak which is very believable at this point. I certainly hope you never get put in again I truly believe you have reached the plateau of your merit career.

Please keep in mind that this is an open blog
that can and is read by people other than Chicago Police Officers.
