Brawls break out at 3 movie theaters

Spend all day with the family on Christmas. After dinner you relax and then decide to go see a movie to put an end to a great day. My choice of movie theaters is always in the burbs...Why?

Brawls broke out at three Chicago movie theater complexes Christmas night

The fights were reported between about 8:30 and 9:30 p.m. at I.C.E. Chatham 14, 210 W. 87th St.; I.C.E. Lawndale 10, 3330 W. Roosevelt Rd.; and AMC Ford City 14 7601 S. Cicero Ave.

The fights did not appear related to any particular movie, police said

No the movie wouldn't be your common denominator in this one.Tribune

I'm not surprised! I went to the movies today to see DreamGirls with my wife, and I couldn't believe all the shit heads that came out to see this movie at Webster theatre.

Its time to go further north before we start having a brawl their.

Any info on this crap? Was it a gang thing, perhaps ghetto? Maybe the middle class kids went off for some reason, maybe they want to act like animals for a change!!!!

Yes, things were quite busy on our southside. Some man, a pregnant woman and another lady, leaving a bar @ 5am, and they got shot.

Perhaps people were fighting over the same purple suit in the store window, at Ghettofordcity Mall.

Waveland Bowl had the same "movie theater" crowd on Christmas morning and Christmas night! The common denominator between all these problems: The M/1...........

It's the Soufh Side. What do you really expect??

Keep these shit heads on the south side. We try to keep the north side clean.

Once again, the south side proves itself as the worst place to live. Where was the shit head from the shot the copper in 013th a couple of weeks ago from Clemente?

Answer: FROM THE SOUTHSIDE

Years ago when I was working a narcotics mission on the north side, I noticed that every asshole that we arrested had either west side or south side addresses. When I asked one of them why he came all the way up to the north side to ply his trade, he replied "Because the police don't fuck with us up here."
This is trying to keep the north side clean?
Stay out of Starbucks and on the street.

Sure, the south side is the worst place to live. How about that lovely area around Wilson and the Lakefront? Toughen up latte drinkers--they're coming!!!!!!

Maybe the $hit is heading North, but it will never be as bad as the Scumside of town.

I got news for you...pockets of shit are everywhere, north, south, and west. And most of the time the reason is, that the law abiding folks stop caring/complaining, and of course, WE drop the ball out there as well.
An area that worsens crime-wise only makes it more dangerous for us to Police it, and as much as the dogs avoid those stretches, there will always be times when you will HAVE TO GET YOUR LAZY ASS OUT OF THE CAR AND BE THE REAL POLICE. SHameful that the movie theater owners won't spend a few bucks and hire some real security, so that everyone can "enjoy the movie." And they wonder why the audience base keeps shrinking year after year? $9.00 to get in, $3.50 for a drink, $5.00 nachos, all for the priviledge of watching these young, dumb disrepectful punks sit in front of you talking or talking on their cell phones during the movie, daring anyone to say anything to them. Thank God for Netflix!!

You have to thank the department for the excess assholes on the street. Make a vehicle stop you have to get an event number and fill out a contact card. Make a street stop, same thing. Hell finding the bad guy is usually gut instinct because they act strange or are out of place. Whether they are black, white or gray. The department has taken the coppers ability to use his experience and instincts on patrol. What do you put on the coontact card. The guy looked at me funny. no wonder these idiots are running rampant. That and the vehicle pursuit policy, or lack of it. As soon as I retire I'm moving to a state where the police still have power and the balls to use it.

Please keep in mind that this is an open blog
that can and is read by people other than Chicago Police Officers.
