I found this video at PoliceOne.com and I obtained the embed code from YouTube. Not here to second guess anyone but a similar incident happened to me when I was working 99. Please go down on your traffic/street stops. Look how long it took for any citizen to help this guy out.
That brings me to another issue and that is those in our profession who don't extend professional courtesies....Cops Writing Cops

Jagoff offender only got 2 years. This country is starting to make me sick with its rampant liberalism. Too bad the copper didn't smoke this jagoff when he grabbed for his gun.

Are you aware of the impending federal investigation into the lieutenants test/promotion? There is definite substance to this rumor and there have been several people approached and questioned.
If you are serious about ending meritocracy bring some light to this and encourage anyone with information to call the US Attorney's Office.
Wow , and that Copper was in good shape. I'd be too scared to work these streets w/o some strength.

What about the dumb broad filming? Look how long it took her to call 9-1-1 let alone people walking/driving by.
Several years ago, I had a visitor on my forum. Foot pursuit that ended up in a large public park. Cop getting his ass kicked, rolling around on the ground w/the goof trying to get his gun. The worst part? A very large group of people just standing by...watching nobody calling 9-1-1. This officer had to have several surgeries but never forgot seeing flashes of people faces just watching him struggle for his life.
I don't care if she's a woman, she video taped the incident for over two minutes and did nothing! She should have come over and cracked the asshat with her camera!
And the rest of the passersby who waited and did nothing!!
Next time someone bitches about police in his town, this film should be shown!
Scary fuckin video. Illustrates alot of things about society but none is more telling than the fact some liberal cunt judge gave this guy only two years. Forget about the way the city treats us. I'm a dog ass because the animals we lock up do not get the time they deserve due to incompetent asa's or liberal judges or both.

Thankfully, things have gotten real bad here lately, but we still have people that believe in backing each other up, coppers, SGT's, and if your district is lucky to have them, field LT's.
But...think about it. If it happened in Chicago, you know the felony review unit MIGHT, just MIGHT approve the felony, but when it goes to 26th and Cal, you KNOW it would be pled out to a misd. and ol' boy would get less then the 2 years this guy got.
People wonder why the coppers morale is low and only going further south....
I would have gotten back in my fuckin' car, drove off and said fuck you to all the citizens.
If this happened in Shitcago and the guy was black, Mary Mitchell would defend the asshole.

typical liberals, can't fight nor defend anything, But can try and fire and sue the same people defending thier livelyhood. They hate the police. Lawyers have made everybody scared to take action because these judges love criminals and will not these cases out of court.
Last month two citizens actually stopped to help me without me asking..I too was alone, obviously, and it wasn't nearly as life and death as this guys. The video speaks to a lot of things. First we only have ourselves to depend on. Once it's on it's on and you have to forget all this crap about the media, the department, and do what you got to do to go home. I loved it when he head butted the guys face, right on brother. Then the copper stopped when it was over. He is a true professional and a true Policeman. And the sergeant wasn't hurt so there would be no felony in Cook County.
Wow, that b*tch just stood there filming this while the cop fights for his life....unbelievable. How about using your cell phone ASAP and calling for more police help?
And, this asshole just gets 2 years? He was out to kill that cop. These judges belong in hell with the rest of the crud.
A now retired PO once told me that he went to aid a uniformed (99) PO who was struggling with a shit head and when the calvary arrived, he was beaten on before he was able to id himself as an off-duty PO.
You bet there are some suspicious activity associated with that Lt's test.
I understand that a HEADquarters dolly and another 5th floor desk lice had access to the abbreviated study material that allowed them to focus more directly on the material that the test questions would be coming from.
By the way; they were promoted.
