Over at SCC they ran a post regarding an article in National Review Magazine written by LAPD Officer "Jack Dunphy" (alias). Most if not all of you read SCC but if you missed their post I will link the NRO article here.

Why are you re-posting previous posts from another blog? don't we as sgts. have enough to post and speak about? the inability to bid properly, residency, our contract, no website with updated info? aren't these are issues? not what SCC is posting....

Dear Fellow Sergeant, The post you mention is merely a link to an article I found that may be of interest to all policemen and citizens of the United States. You are correct that there are many issues that we as sergeants should be discussing. I have posted on the subjects that you have mentioned in the past but since our readership has doubled since last month I again will bring them up. Please feel free to suggest a topic to discuss and we will be more than happy to post it. Our email address is listed in our profile. Thank You for your concerns. SCS
I am interested in a push to fund our own insurance. I wonder if there is one of us out there with insurance experience. The idea of us paying higher amounts to the city because of our pay scale is wrong. A long term goal should be free insurance to retirees. Every check for back pay is shortened to pay the City. I'm going to guess the city is making a killing off of us. Act now or we will be fucked in the future. Any thoughts?
Thanks for posting this article. Even if SCC posted it first, so what. It is pertanent to all of us as police officers, no matter what our rank is. In the last few years we have been very lucky, and it is certainly not because of anything that this Department has done. Pray that our luck continues.
I agree with the post by southsideirishcatholicdemocrats regarding free insurance for retirees. We will get there very soon and insurance premiums will continue eat up a major portion of our pension checks. We need to stop this madness now.
