IS THERE A PROBLEM HERE?

Tribune
Pamela Hester-Jones woke up at 10:30 p.m. Monday to a Chicago police detective knocking on her apartment door.

"He asked me if I was Lazarus Jones' mother and when I said yes he said, 'Your son's been injured,'" Hester-Jones said

But it was worse. Lazarus, 13, an 8th grader at Budlong Elementary School, had been fatally beaten during a gang-related fight Monday night in the Albany Park neighborhood, police said.

"I don't know what happened to my son. It was a tragedy, a mistake. He wasn't in any gangs," his mother said.

Hester-Jones said she last spoke to her son at 1:30 p.m. Monday as she was heading out the door to visit her other son, Jasper, who is incarcerated at Cook County Jail.

Lazarus, of the 2500 block of West Foster Avenue, was "beaten with a blunt object" around 9:45 p.m. Monday outside a liquor store at 3132 W. Lawrence Ave., said Chicago Police Officer Hector Alfaro.

Lets see its 10:30 pm on a school night and you are asleep but your child isn't home. You last saw him at 1:30 pm prior to visiting your other son who is incarcerated. It turns out your 13 year old is beaten to death outside of a liquor store about a mile and a half from home and you refuse to believe he was in a gang.
Incredible!

Not my little boy.........
He's an honor student........
He does all kinds of things for the community......
He was going to choir practice.

His brother was wrongly accused and has been harassed by the police, they planted that stuff on him.

Does the story ever change?
How long has it been since mom's last CB#?

Typical Chicago garbage...

The next step is her suing the city for failing to parent her child.

I gotta side with mom on this one.

I have an eight-month old and when she grows up, I know she will never be capable of any wrong doing. I also expect full support from the local government in raising my child. Therefore, it'll be thier fault if something bad should happen to my little angel.

I work alot and have my own problems. If my little girl can't be home at curfew, then I would hope that police officers would use some common sense and get her home to me on time. I mean, I gotta get my sleep and/or catch Jay Leno's insightful dialogue.

Plus, it's not easy raising children and supporting a drug habit at the same time. Sheesh, it's hard enough finding a decent dope dealer that will let me "work-off" my drug debts.

If my little princess wants to hang out in front of a liquor store in a shitty neighborhood at all hours of the day, then I'm sure she has her reasons. And if those reasons are criminal, then again, it's YOUR job to figure that out. I'm not the one with a Criminal Justice Associates degree from Harold Washington College.

I think that as a police department you all need to get your shit together. You really dropped the ball on this one. Yet another future saint ripped from the community by a less than perfect police department.

SHAME ON YOU ALL!

First off, a 13 year old can't visit at County jail by himself. Second off, why the hell was he out at 9;30 if he wasn't up to anything. I bet the press makes him out to be a little angel, honor student. Mom really cared if she went to sleep before he was home. My baby, he was such a good boy. Now he'll never be able to grow up, collect welfare and deal drugs !!!!

Does anyone else find it odd that our contract is almost expired, but there isn't an official copy available yet? As a certain SCC posters would say,"I believe our union is run by Asshats".

Umm...excuse me Mr. Second City Sarge,

I don't think that was the answer they were looking for on the last Sgt's Test!!

You're f--king right though!

Please keep in mind that this is an open blog
that can and is read by people other than Chicago Police Officers.
